Explosives Detection

CompactSafeis a new system that is designed to detect solid and liquid explosive residues on the surface of and inside small electronic devices, such as laptops, MP3 players, cameras, and cellular phones. The objects under examination are placed in a sealed enclosure that fills with compressed air, loosening particles of explosive materials, which can then be sensed by a conventional trace detector. Israel-based TraceGuard introduced the system, along with a second model, CarrySafe, that can detect explosives in larger carry-on bags. Both detectors are designed to be located next to existing x-ray machines at airports.

Designed for easy installation, dual output AC circuits are configurable from the front panel for 24 VAC or 28 VAC operation. With a flip of a switch, voltage is converted in banks of eight circuits. Cameras requiring long wire runs can now receive adequate power without overloading closer cameras with excessive voltage.
