Key Management<p>​Morse Watchmans of Oxford, Con­necticut, reports that its KeyWatcher Touch key control system now supports the C-CURE 9000 security and event management system from Software House. C-CURE 9000 Enterprise pro­vides a distributed architecture for enterprise scalability, allowing each location to maintain local control while the corporation has central control. Together, the two systems allow administrators to streamline the process of securing, controlling, and tracking keys for the facility. The KeyWatcher Touch offers scheduled reports that are automatically e-mailed to authorized recipients. System administrators have access to the reports as needed. The system also enables managers to not­ify a user via e-mail when a key is overdue.&#160;</p>
High-Definition Cameras<p>​Panasonic System Communications Company of North America of Newark, New Jersey, introduced True 4K cameras that feature a 12-mega­pixel 4K ULTRA HD imaging sensor. The custom-designed lens and sensor array produce genuine 4K resolution images with consistent sharpness across the entire frame. Cameras include outdoor vandal dome (WV-SFV781L) and outdoor vandal fixed ((WV-SPV781L) models. They feature a 4K-ready 6x optical zoom lens with 17- to 100-degree field of view and rugged housing for vandal resistance and outdoor applications. Onboard processors have the ability to encode two H.264 recording streams simultaneously. Fingerprint Terminals<p>​Morpho (Safran) of Issy les Moulineaux, France, introduced two devices to its MorphoAccess SIGMA family of biometric access control and time solutions. The SIGMA Lite series fingerprint terminals are designed to equip narrow mounting surfaces on glass and aluminum door mullions, turnstiles, and server rack doors. A variety of models address a wide range of deployment scenarios for both indoor and outdoor applications. The first design features an LED indicator to assist users, while the second design has a color touchscreen for enhanced interactivity. Multiple card reader options augment the fingerprint technology, and the readers accommodate up to 250,000 users for one-to-one verification and up to 10,000 users for one-to-many identification.&#160;</p>
Outdoor Camera<p>​The VL7038K is a new 1000 TVL weather-resistant bullet camera from Speco Technologies of Amityville, New York. It uses a 1/3-inch 1.3-MP Sony sensor to provide 1000 TV lines of resolution and true day/night compatibility. The multi-mount allows installers to easily manipulate the angle of the camera. External control rings provide easy focus and distance adjustment, and 63 infrared LEDs help produce a sharp picture in complete darkness. The camera comes with a five-year warranty.</p>
Security Software<p>​Quantum Secure of San Jose, California, added new functionality to its SAFE Predictive Security Software. New user interfaces are designed to speed up the processing of visitors and provide new self-service options in line with current business trends. The new functionality is compatible with kiosks and visitor stations, as well as other computers already in use, and includes streamlined services for processing visitors, approving access requests, internal audits, and more. Vehicle Inspection<p>​American Science and Engineering of Billerica, Massachusetts, introduced the next-generation Z Portal system. This drive-through cargo and vehicle inspection system uses multiple detection technologies to provide up to six views of scanned passenger vehicles, trucks, buses, and cargo. Its innovative design captures dual-energy transmission images in addition to its Forwardscatter and signature Z Backscatter images to provide superior material discrimination and anomaly detection. Vehicles can pass through at speeds up to 12 miles per hour and the unit can screen up to 250 trucks per hour.
